Sub-user FAQ
Applicable role: Sub-user Last updated: 2026-07-14
This document summarizes the most common questions sub-users encounter when using the console. If your question isn't covered here, please contact platform support.
Account and Identity
Q: How do I tell whether I'm an organization or a sub-user? A: Look at the number of menu items in the left navigation bar after logging in. A sub-user's menu items include Dashboard, API Keys, Default Model Configuration, Usage Records, and Profile. If you see additional menus such as "Sub-user Management," "Balance Management," or "Redemption," you are an organization (top-level user).
Q: What's the difference between a sub-user and an organization? A: An organization is an enterprise-level top-level account responsible for top-ups and managing funds and users; a sub-user is a usage entity under the organization that calls models with a Key, with consumption deducted from the organization's balance. Sub-users don't need to top up and cannot see the organization's fund details.
Q: Can I register an independent account? A: Sub-user accounts are created by the organization administrator; self-registration is not supported. To use the platform, please contact your organization administrator to create an account for you and provide an activation code.
Keys and Calls
Q: Can sub-users create their own Keys? A: Yes. Sub-users can create Keys themselves on the "API Keys" page, but routing groups can only be selected within the scope authorized by the organization. See API Key Management for details.
Q: Why is a certain group missing from the dropdown list when creating a Key? A: The dropdown list only shows the groups the organization has authorized for you. If the group you need is missing, please contact the organization administrator to add the authorization for you.
Q: Why are there only a few menu items? A: This is the normal state for a sub-user. Sub-users have only 5 menu items: Dashboard, API Keys, Default Model Configuration, Usage Records, and Profile. Functions such as top-ups and sub-user management are the responsibility of the organization administrator, which sub-users don't need and cannot access. If you manually enter the URL of another page, you'll be automatically redirected back to the Dashboard.
Q: What should I fill in for the model field when making a call?
A: Fill in the model name (e.g., gpt-4o). You can view the list of available models on the "Call Guide" page (/call-guide) or in the "Model Marketplace." If the organization has enabled group-identifier routing (an advanced feature, disabled by default), the Call Guide page will additionally show call names with group identifiers (e.g., 5MHXZWKA/gpt-4o, which routes through the specified group). See Call Guide for details.
Q: Why can't I see a certain model or group in the Call Guide? A: The Call Guide only displays the models and groups you can currently reach. The reachable scope depends on which groups the organization has authorized for you. If some content is missing, please contact the organization administrator to adjust your authorization scope. When group-identifier routing is not enabled, the page does not show group-identifier call names, and calls with a group-identifier prefix will also be rejected.
Quota and Billing
Q: Whose funds are deducted for call consumption? A: The balance of the organization you belong to. Sub-users don't have an independent fund account; all fees incurred by calls are deducted from the organization's balance pool. You don't need to top up yourself.
Q: What should I do when my quota is used up? A: Once the quota is used up, none of your Keys will be able to continue making calls. Please contact your organization administrator to raise your quota limit. You cannot top up or adjust the quota yourself.
Q: How do I know how much quota I have left? A: There are two places to check. One is the balance overview section on the "Dashboard" page; the other is the "My Quota" bar at the top of the "API Keys" page (format: "My Quota: Used X / Y credits, Remaining Z"). Both are read-only displays. See Dashboard and Quota for details.
Q: Will creating multiple Keys give me multiple quotas? A: No. All Keys under your account share the same quota limit, and consumption is calculated cumulatively.
Privacy and Data
Q: Can I see other sub-users' data? A: No. Sub-users can only see their own Keys, call records, and usage data, and cannot view any information about other sub-users in the same organization.
Q: Can the organization administrator see my call records? A: Yes. The organization administrator can view your usage data in "Sub-user Management" and "Usage Records." This is a normal function for the organization to control usage.
Password and Login
Q: What should I do if I forget my password? A: Click "Forgot Password" on the login page, complete identity verification as prompted, and then set a new password. If the self-service method fails to complete the reset, please contact the organization administrator for assistance. See Activation and Login for details.
Q: What should I do if I didn't receive an activation code? A: Activation codes are created and issued by the organization administrator. Please contact your organization administrator directly to request one. Platform support cannot generate an activation code for you.
Q: What should I do if my activation code has expired? A: An activation code can only be used once. If your activation code has already been used or has other issues, please contact the organization administrator to generate a new one for you.
